Chef Mike’s culinary savvy comes to us by way of Culinary 1 All—Star Music Resort, Walt Disney World, Orlando Florida, Executive Chef; Virginia Beach Resort and Conference Center and Executive Chef; Chesapeake Conference Center.
A native of Virginia Beach, Chef Mike began his culinary experience while still in high school, busing tables for a small Italian restaurant. While working at the Greenbrier Country Club, Chef Mike made the life changing decision to pursuer his culinary career in earnest. In 1989, he started working at the Virginia Beach Resort Hotel and advanced from banquet chef to executive sous chef before obtaining position of Executive Chef.
As Food and Beverage Director, Chef Mike oversees the daily food operations of Shoreline Grill, room service for our 214 guest rooms and banquet facility. Always looking ahead, he keeps up with industry trends and implements new ideas. He is devoted to producing a quality product and cares about those who work for him. By balancing all aspects of his position, he can surely look forward to many successful years at the Best Western Plus Oceanfront and Shoreline Grill.
